On the Tragedy in Merylsward
On the night of 28 Eyre, tragedy struck the Prismatic Guild. During the celebration at the Vadalis manor in Merylsward, a barbarous attack took place - while information is still being gathered, it is confirmed that all guild captains have been slain, and appear to have been the primary target of the attack.
The celebration at the Vadalis manor was being held as a thanks to the guild for their heroic work in stopping a group of escaped magebred beasts earlier in the day. This event was interrupted by the arrival of a ghostly half-elf, through which all attempts to touch passed through. This strange guest spoke as if a member of a larger group, taking responsibility for the release of the magebred animals, and thanking a “benefactor” for what was about to happen next.
The exact details on the next moments are unclear. Finishing its proclamation, the figure disappeared as if a spirit or illusion, and the area where the guild captains were sequestered came under immediate attack. Witnesses report that those captains that attempted to escape were heavily mutilated and burned, but dragged back into the chambers by a flaming lash. Some experts in the guild are claiming the attack was consistent with stories of powerful fiends, but no concrete proof of this yet exists, and whatever perpetrator or perpetrators carried it out were not found afterwards.
With the death of the guild captains, all current vice captains have been newly promoted into their position. As of yet, there are no leads on who carried out what was clearly a targeted attack on the guild’s leadership, or why.
At this time, all guild members are asked to stay on high alert, and be ready for any further instructions. Anyone with information on the attack should immediately report to one of the newly promoted Guild Captains.
