Materiel Word

At the request of a local notable of Throneport, the commercial landlord Horace Rammswein, Guild members investigated his warehouse at the corner of Rovira Street and the Silver Way for not paying their rent, and driving off any friendly attempts to collect. The tenant, a Mr. Bauvin Rauster, also was not responding to any communications - though that perhaps had a reason, given his actual tenancy in Wroat.

Upon arriving at the location, Guild members noticed that the local guardsmen were not terribly keen on helping them with their investigation, and furthermore the men occupying the warehouse were not terribly keen on allowing the Guild members to live. Upon exterminating the pests, our adventurers found the warehouse to be a hub for all sorts of criminality.

A Brelish organization of some sort, believed to be Daask, had achieved significant success in Thronehold, and was busy with smuggling drugs, particularly Dragon's Blood; contraband weapons such as blast discs; and a vast quantity of Khyber dragonshards; among other endeavors: early planning of a bank heist, a bribery scheme with the Karrnathi watch, and falsified shipping manifests.

Further investigation was stymied by the arrival of Watch-Captain Horace Horatio of the Aundairian Quarter who advised the adventurers to leave before they were arrested by the Karrnathi Guard, and further investigation revealed that the right-hand woman of the Karrnathi Guard captain may know more about the bribery scheme.

With all this in hand and an unhelpful visit to the Kundarak banks, our party arrived back at the house of their quest giver but found him to be quite unfortunately dead, recently murdered by an assassin carrying a Keeper's Fang, which had been left in the corpse. Further investigation revealed that the murdered man was not quite their client at all, or at least not who he had claimed to be. 4ACE, a warforged who appeared to be the erstwhile lover of the late Horace Rammswein: a starcrossed tale for another time.

Our adventurers return to the guild with several leads to follow, but further action will need to be taken with a broader group of adventurers.
